Staged! is pleased to continue our Master Class program this season by bringing top-notch performer / educators with Broadway experience to work with our local students.

Our next Master Class Professional is:

Barrett Wilbert Weed – the original Veronica in Heathers: The Musical!


When: January 28, 2017 from 10am-2pm

Where: World Trade Center auditorium, 121 SW Salmon Street, Portland, OR 97204 (Parking on site – enter the parking garage off Taylor Street)

What: Students will join Barrett in her full vocal, physical, and focus warm-up. Next, students will have the opportunity to work a song or monologue one-on-one with Barrett (accompanist provided). The 4-hour class will end with a Q&A and Barrett’s tips for managing a career in professional theatre.

Cost: $195 to participate (limited enrollment)

$15 to observe the class


Barrett Wilbert Weed is best known for her portrayal of Veronica Sawyer in Heathers: The Musical. For her performance, she earned Lucille Lortel and Drama Desk nominations for Best Leading Actress in a Musical. Other credits include: Denise in Found at the Atlantic Theatre Company, Nadia in the recent revival of Bare at New World Stages, and, most recently, her portrayal of Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the Signature Theater in Washington D.C. for which she won the 2016 Helen Hayes Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical. Barrett holds a B.F.A. degree from Elon University in Music Theatre and is a Graduate of The Walnut Hill School. Barrett acts and coaches in New York and via Skype. Instagram: @BarrettWeed

Barrett will also appear on a Panel – Art Factory: Building a Musical, where she will discuss the process of originating a role on a timeline. Panel Discussion is January 28th at 5pm, also at World Trade Center as part of the Fertile Ground Festival.
