What is S! Conservatory

The S! Conservatory is a pre-professional training program for goal-oriented students ages 15-20 who want to train hard, play hard, and immerse themselves in theatre. Meeting weekly throughout the school year, the curriculum is designed to train and support the “whole actor” with sequential classwork, ongoing mentoring, and special opportunities.

Housed with the Artshub (now located at Zidell on the SW Waterfront), the 9-month (September through May) program culminates in with a Showcase attended by theatre industry professionals, family, and friends. Space is limited to 16-18 students only. Students who fully apply themselves into our rigorous training will be equipped to pursue college conservatory programs, university performance majors or gain entry level professional performing arts employment.

S! Conservatory Auditions are held annually and each class selected works together for the entirety of the school year. S! Conservatory involvement offers a stimulating and fast-paced rehearsal environment, a sense of belonging, an investment in the community, internship opportunities, and college/career guidance from our staff.

S! Conservatory students are instilled with a lifelong love for the arts and learn the value of accountability, discipline, teamwork, kindness, hard work, and play. These attributes will serve them well in any of their future endeavors whether theatre-related or not. For the serious student aspiring for a career in theatre, our S! Conservatory functions as a training program to equip young artists with the tools for success in the 21st century.
